Associate Prof. George Tsoulos

George Tsoulos graduated from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Athens, Greece, in 1992, and received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Bristol, Bristol, UK, in 1997. From 1994 until 1999 he was a Research Associate and then a HEFCE Research Fellow at the University of Bristol, working in the area of wireless communication systems with particular emphasis on smart antennas. Then, he was with the Global Technology Centre of the PA Consulting Group, Cambridge, UK, until 2002, working for leading companies across the world in the design and analysis of advanced wireless communication systems. Between 2003-2004 he was a senior research fellow at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems, Athens, Greece, in the context of the program ENTER, and then collaborated until 2009 with the MFOL of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NTUA, Athens, Greece, in the context of the program PENED.
He has been with the University of Peloponnese since 2005, Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, Wireless Communications Lab, where his current position is Associate Professor, Vice Rector for R&D and Director of the MSc 'Advanced Telecommunication Systems & Networks'. Among other things, he was WG chairman for COST260, national representative in COST IC1102, regional delegate for EurAAP and external evaluator for R&D proposals. He has published more than 100 papers, and more recently, a publication on full duplex relays was finalist for Best Paper Award at EuCAP 2015. His research interests include advanced wireless communication systems, smart antennas, MIMO, full duplex systems, radiowave propagation and network planning, UAV and THz communications.
