I was born in Tripoli, Greece. I graduated from high school in June 1996 and received the BSc degree in computer science from the Computer Science Department, University of Crete in October 2000. In June 2003, I received the MSc degree in computer engineering from the Department of Electronic & Computer Engineering, Technical University of Crete under the supervision of Prof. Manolis Koubarakis, and in December 2009 I received the PhD degree from the same institute under the supervision of Prof. Euripides Petrakis.

During the periods October 2007 - December 2007 and March 2008 - July 2008 I joined the Databases and Information Systems Department at Max-Planck Institute for Informatics (MPII) as a visiting researcher under the supervisoin of Prof. Gerhard Weikum.

Since August 2008 I am a Researcher at the Software & Database Systems Lab, Department of Computer Science & Technology, University of Peloponnese, and since September 2008 I am Teaching Staff at the same Department.

Finally, since July 2011 I am acting as an External evaluator for the FET-Open ICT Research Proposals in FP7 at the European Commission.
